Suganon was established in the early 1980’s. The brand was envisaged to provide a range of low kilojoule sugar ¹ alternatives that are diabetic friendly. ²
Suganon offers a choice of two sugar free sweeteners from Adcock Ingram Healthcare; Suganon Stevia and Suganon Xylitol.
Stevia is a naturally gluten-free food. The Stevia leaf extract is born from the sweet leaves of the Stevia plant, native to South America. The harvested and dried leaves are steeped in hot water to extract the plant’s intense natural sweetness, which is then purified to provide a low kilojoule non-nutritive sweetener. ¹
Xylitol is a sugar alternative. It is a naturally occurring sugar alcohol found in most plant material, including many fruits and vegetables and it’s ideal for baking, amongst many other uses. ²
Our products contain lower calories than sugar, which makes them useful as part of calorie - and or sugar - controlled eating plans and lifestyles. ³
